- Single compression glands have one compression ring that clamps the cable outer sheath — providing basic mechanical grip and IP54 sealing for unarmoured cables in dry or lightly protected environments. Double compression glands have two compression elements: one clamps the cable armour (providing earthing continuity) and one seals the outer sheath — achieving IP68 sealing and mechanical clamping for armoured cables in outdoor, wet or harsh environments.

- Brass cable glands are available in metric thread sizes from M16 to M63 and PG sizes from PG7 to PG48, covering cable outer diameters from 3 mm to 42 mm. They are suitable for unarmoured (single compression), SWA armoured and STA armoured cables. Size selection should match the cable's outer sheath diameter — our team can advise the correct gland size for your cable specification.
- Are your brass cable glands nickel-plated?
- Both standard (plain brass) and nickel-plated variants are available. Nickel-plated brass glands offer improved corrosion resistance and are recommended for outdoor, coastal and mildly corrosive environments. For highly corrosive environments (chemical plants, offshore), stainless steel cable glands are the preferred alternative.
